Nursing in neurorehabilitation settings is rewarding but can be demanding due to the affect acquired brain injuries can have on behaviour.
The focus is usually on physical rehabilitation but nurses often require skills and knowledge to manage low level challenging behaviours. These may be verbal, physical or sexual in nature.
INPA’s nurse training will be delivered by two experts in the field of rehabilitation- whose knowledge has been built over many years of hands on experience.
Dr Jenny Brooks is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has worked with people with acquired brain injury and neurobehavioural needs in inpatient, residential and community settings for many years. Shaun O’Gara is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has managed a range of hospitals and units in the public and private sector. Together they work as The ABI Team.
These courses are suitable for all grades of trained and untrained nursing staff who work in neurorehabilitation settings.
Places are limited to 20 per session and are £75 per person payable by invoice.
